(more…)Red lentil soup is both delicious and nutritious, and it is quite simple to prepare.
As a first step, thoroughly wash and drain a certain amount of red lentils. Then, place a sufficient amount of water in a pot and add the washed lentils. Cook on medium heat until the lentils have softened. In the meantime, finely chop an onion and add it to the lentils. (If you want to add potato, carrot etc, you can add them right here.)

(more…)Last week, as those who follow me on social media will have seen, we lost my grandmother. We sent her to join my grandfather after a fulfilling life of 96 years. While this mourning was undoubtedly a sorrowful process, for us Mevlevis, it is referred to as Seb-i Arus, which means the night of union with God or the Wedding Day.
